On the evening of 06/26/2024, Ojai patrol deputies and detectives, along with Ventura County major crimes detectives and Headquarters Station detectives, responded to the 800 block of El Roblar Drive in Meiners Oaks reference an assault with a deadly weapon.
 
Upon their arrival, responding personnel learned Omar Olmos and Antonio Gutierrez drove to Victim #1’s residence, located on the 800 block of El Roblar Drive, to confront and assault him. Olmos threatened to kill Victim # 1 and swung a machete at him.  During the altercation, Victim #2 was battered by Antonio Gutierrez, after Victim # 2 responded to help Victim #1.
 
Olmos and Gutierrez were subdued and arrested by law enforcement personnel at the scene. Olmos and Gutierrez sustained minor injuries from the physical altercation with the victims.  Both victims also sustained minor injuries.  All involved parties were treated by medical personnel on scene.
 
Olmos was transported to Ojai Valley Hospital for a medical clearance and booked at the Ventura Main Jail by patrol deputies.  Gutierrez was booked at the Ventura Main Jail by patrol deputies.
 
Olmos was arrested for violations of PC 245(a)(1) - Assault with a Deadly Weapon, PC 422 -Criminal Threats, PC 182(a)(1) - Conspiracy to Commit a Crime, and HS 11375(b)(2) - Possession of a controlled substance.
 
Gutierrez was arrested for PC 242 - Battery and PC 182(a)(1) - Conspiracy to Commit a Crime.
 
 
 
The ultimate arrest of the suspects and subsequent investigation was made possible by the prompt response of patrol deputies and detectives.
