Incident at Verde Park Results in Assault and Hospitalization 
On July 1, 2024, at approximately 8:31 PM, Jonathan Ochoa (an 18 year old Simi Valley resident) and his girlfriend were at Verde Park, located at 6045 Nelda St. Jonathan called 911, reporting that he believed he was about to be jumped by four male gang members. Shortly thereafter, Ochoa was indeed assaulted by four male subjects, one of whom was armed with brass knuckles.
As a result of the assault, Ochoa sustained several head lacerations and a concussion. He was promptly transported to Los Robles Hospital for medical treatment.
No arrests have been made yet; however, the investigation is ongoing, and anyone with information about the incident is urged to contact the Simi Valley Police Department at 805-583-6950.
