Wilmington Police have arrested a man on drug charges.
Beginning in June, members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division have been conducting an investigation into illegal drug sales in the unit block of South DuPont Street. On June 27, at approximately 11:14 a.m., police executed a search warrant in that block and took 49-year-old Dion Jenkins into custody without incident. Police recovered 15.09 grams of crack cocaine, $1,767, and drug paraphernalia.
Jenkins has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 2 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 2 Quantity
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He was arraigned in the New Castle County Court of Common Pleas and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $28,000 cash-only bail.
