Green Bay Police Remind Boaters of Temporary Orders for July 4th; Downtown Green Bay
The Green Bay Police Department (GBPD) wants boaters to be aware of some important orders for the Festival Foods Fire Over the Fox on Thursday, July 4, 2024.
To abide by the firework fallout zone, the GBPD Marine Unit will be enforcing a no docking, mooring, or operation of watercraft between the Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge (Dousman Street/Main Street) to the train trestle north of Leicht Park and into the East River east to the bridge on N Monroe Avenue. This enforcement will take place from 6:00 p.m. until the end of the fireworks. There will be temporary no docking signage posted in this area.
Also, as permitted by the City of Green Bay, the Waterboard Warriors will perform their ski show in front of the City Deck from 4:00-5:00 p.m. This means a safety zone between the Bart Starr Memorial Bridge (Walnut Street) and Ray Nitschke Memorial Bridge will be established for the performers. Therefore, we will temporarily be holding back boat traffic from passing through except for a brief intermission halfway through the show.
Please plan your navigation on the water around these orders and patience is appreciated. Have a safe and enjoyable Independence Day.
