July 3 & 4 Winslow street closures for festivities - Reminder: NO fireworks allowed on Bainbridge Island

July 3 & 4 Street Closures and Reminders
Many downtown Winslow streets will be closed for the July 3 & 4 festivities. See the list below.

No fireworks, please
Friendly reminder that consumer fireworks are not allowed on Bainbridge Island. Chapter 8.28 of the Bainbridge Island Municipal Code prohibits the possession, use or discharge of consumer fireworks within the city.

To report fireworks that pose a threat to life or property, call 911. 

You may report nuisance fireworks complaints that are not an emergent threat to life or property on July 3 and July 4 between 5 p.m.-1a.m. directly to the Bainbridge Island Police Department at 206-842-5211.

Street Closures
JULY 3
Winslow Way from Madison Ave. to Ericksen will be shut down to vehicle traffic and parking on July 3 at 12 p.m. in preparation for the July 3 Street Dance. Winslow Way will not re-open until after the July 4 festivities are over by 5 p.m..

JULY 4
Street Closures for the Grand Old Fourth Event

  • Winslow Way closes between Madison and Ericksen from July 3 at 12 p.m. until 5 p.m. on July 4.
  • Bjune & Brien will close to through traffic at 6 a.m. on July 4 p.m.
  • Madison, south of Wyatt to Winslow will close at 9 a.m. on July 4
  • Rolling road closures throughout downtown Winslow between 9 -11 a.m. during the BYS Fun Run.
  • Other roads in  downtown Winslow will be closed at 11 a.m. for the parade.
  • All roads will open by 5 p.m. on July 4

Construction on Madison during the Grand Old Fourth
Sidewalks on both sides of Madison will be open for pedestrian travel and parade watching fun.

The City contractor finsihed up sidewalk and ramp pouring along the east side of Madison Avenue. A gravel strip will remain (for now) between the recently poured curb and the sidewalk. The gravel strip will be the future paved bike lane. Paving operations will not begin again until after the July 4 celebration.
 

Instructions:

Avoid parking on Winslow streets prior to closure for festivities.
