A Fourth of July Message from Mayor Tom Giordano
My Dear Neighbors & Friends:
As we begin to get ready for a long holiday weekend, to celebrate the Fourth of July or Independence Day, as the birthday of our nation, let us keep in mind that this holiday is not just about barbeques, parties, and fireworks, it is also about Freedom, Liberty and Independence.
It is a day when we remember the journey of all our ancestors, whose unwavering spirit made our freedom possible, we recognize those who have served, and those who continue to serve our country, we thank them for their service in keeping us free.
Let us always salute the Spirit of America, always teaching our children and future generations about the true history of Independence Day.
May we use our freedom to serve one another with kindness and equality, accepting everyone for who they are and showing everyone love.
“May we think of Freedom not as a right to do as we please, rather as the opportunity to do what is right.” - Peter Marshall
“I like to see a man proud of the place in which he lives. I like to see a man live so that his place will be proud of him.” – Abraham Lincoln
On behalf of your Council Members and Myself, enjoy your Fourth of July, the weekend and may this day be a symbol of peace, prosperity, and happiness in your lives.
God bless America and the people who live here!
Happy Fourth of July
Mayor Tom Giordano
