Multiple rounds of thunderstorms will produce heavy rain across parts of southeast Missouri into southwest Illinois tonight through late Thursday night, which may produce flash flooding.
* WHAT...Flash flooding caused by excessive rainfall is possible.
* WHERE...Portions of southeast Missouri and southwest Illinois.
* WHEN...From 7 PM CDT this evening through late Thursday night.
* IMPACTS...Excessive runoff may result in flooding of rivers, creeks, streams, and other low-lying and flood-prone locations. Creeks and streams may rise out of their banks. Low-water crossings may be flooded.
* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - Thunderstorms will develop late this afternoon through late tonight over the Flood Watch area, which will have the potential to produce 2 to 4 inches of rain through late tonight. After a lull Thursday afternoon, another round of thunderstorms is expected Thursday night which will produce more heavy rain. The multiple rounds of heavy rain may produce flash flooding, as well as flood small creeks, streams, and low water crossings.
