Two Needles Residents Arrested after Four Children were Found with Injuries Consistent with Child Abuse

DATE/TIME: Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at approximately 4:15 p.m.

INCIDENT: PC 273A(A) - Child Abuse with Great Bodily Injury 

LOCATION: 1900 Block of Lambert Street, Needles, California 

SUSPECT(S): Michael Jackson, 42-years-old, Resident of  Needles, CA
 Shannon Jackson, 42-years-old, Resident of Needles, CA

VICTIM(S): Confidential Male Juvenile, 14-years-old, Resident of Needles
Confidential Female Juvenile, 15-years-old, Resident of Needles
Confidential Male Juvenile, 13-years-old, Resident of Needles
Confidential Female Juvenile, 11-years-old, Resident of Needles



SUMMARY: On Tuesday, July 2, 2024, at approximately 4:15 p.m., deputies from the Colorado River Station/Needles Police Department responded to the Fort Mohave Tribal Police Department for a report of possible physical abuse to a 14- year-old male juvenile.

Upon arrival, deputies contacted the victim and found the child was suffering from severe welts and bruising, located throughout his body.  Deputies immediately began a criminal investigation and contacted the suspects at their home. During the investigation, three additional juvenile victims were located in the home, each suffering from injuries consistent with physical abuse.  The juvenile victims were safely removed from the home by Tribal Social Services and were transported to a local area hospital for treatment. 

Michael Jackson and Shannon Jackson were both arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking.  Michael Jackson and Shannon Jackson remain in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department with a bail amount of $100,000.00 each, awaiting a court hearing.
