The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito. It does not include all crimes. It also does not include non-criminal events such as missing persons, traffic collisions, non-criminal deaths, non-criminal disputes, or many other police activities that do not result in arrest.

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito from June 23^rd – June 29^th.

June 23^rd
Vandalism – 10300 Block of San Pablo Ave.
At 9:31 AM, an officer reports the victim’s vehicle was vandalized sometime on 06/22/2024 between the hours of 12:00 AM - 6:00 AM.

Stolen Vehicle – 5700 Block of San Diego St.
At 11:02 AM, an officer reports the victim’s vehicle was stolen sometime around 5:30 AM.

Stolen Vehicle – 225 El Cerrito Plaza:
At 2:47 PM, an officer reports the victim’s vehicle was stolen from the parking lot between the hours of 5:00 AM - 1:00 PM.

June 24^th
Stolen Vehicle - 6400 Block of Conlon Ave.
At 8:08 PM, an officer reports the victim’s vehicle was stolen between the hours of 4:00 AM - 4:30 PM.

Organized Retail Theft - 11565 San Pablo (Walgreens):
At 9:18 PM, an officer reports three suspects entered the business and loaded their purses with merchandise. The suspects fled the store prior to police arrival.  

Possession of Stolen Vehicle - Potrero Ave. / Eastshore Blvd.
At 1:25 AM, an officer noticed a vehicle with three subjects speeding in the area and attempted to catch up to it. The officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop and driver of the vehicle pulled over.  The driver of the vehicle then exited out of the vehicle and fled on foot. The officer detained the other two passengers. During the investigation, the officer discovered the vehicle was an unreported stolen vehicle.  

Grand Theft – 11565 San Pablo Ave. (Walgreens):
At 12:11 PM, an officer reports the victim’s electric bicycle was stolen from in front of the store.

Shoplifting – 6000 El Cerrito Plaza (Marshalls):
At 12:41 PM, an officer accepted the citizen’s arrest of a suspect who was apprehended by the store’s Loss Prevention after trying to leave with unpaid merchandise. The suspect was arrested and released with a citation.

Stolen Vehicle Recovery – 11755 San Pablo Ave. (Honda):
At 1:48 PM, an officer recovered a stolen vehicle.

June 25 ^th
Organized Retail Theft - 670 El Cerrito Plaza (CVS):
At 9:40 PM, an officer reports two suspects entered the business and loaded three garbage bags full of merchandise. The suspects fled the business prior to police arrival.

Public intoxication - 7400 Block of Moeser Ln.
At 9:08 PM, officers were dispatched to the area for a subject down on the ground. Officers contacted the subject and determined the subject was intoxicated and unable to care for themself. The subject was given medical attention and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

June 26^th

June 27^th  
Robbery - 2000 El Cerrito Plaza (Ross):
At 7:10 PM, an officer reports an employee confronted the suspect after witnessing the suspect cutting security tags from merchandise. The suspect pushed the employee several times before exiting the store with the unpaid merchandise. The suspect fled prior to police arrival.

Organized Retail Theft - 11545 San Pablo Ave. (Ross):
At 9:10 PM, an officer reports three suspects fled the store with approximately seventy items of unpaid merchandise.

June 28^th
Petty Theft from Vehicle – 6500 block of Manila Ave.
At 10:52 AM, an officer took a lobby report of property stolen out of an unlocked vehicle.

Warrant Arrest – 10900 San Pablo Ave.
At 5:30 PM, an officer reports the arrest of a suspect who had a warrant for their arrest.  The suspect was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

False Identity to a Peace Officer - 11450 San Pablo Ave. (Safeway):
At 6:48 PM, officers were dispatched to the business for an unwanted subject. During the investigation, the subject gave officers a false name. The subject was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released on citation.

Robbery - 6000 El Cerrito Plaza (Marshalls):
At 8:27 PM, officers were dispatched for a subject who brandished a knife after being confronted by employees for shoplifting. Officers located the subject and was positively identified during an infield show-up. The suspect was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Stolen Vehicle - 400 Block of Richmond St.
At 10:21 PM, an officer reports the victim’s vehicle was stolen sometime between 6:55 PM and 8:00 PM.

June 29^th
Warrant Arrest – 5805 Cutting Blvd. (Sketchers):
At 12:37 PM, an officer arrested a subject who had two non-citable warrants. The subject was booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and transported to Martinez Detention Facility.

Driving Under the Influence - San Pablo Ave. / Conlon Ave.
At 1:51 AM, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop. During the investigation, officers found the driver to be driving under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and released with a citation to a sober friend.
