As we celebrate Independence Day, please remember to exercise caution, common sense, and courtesy when using fireworks. According to Michigan law, fireworks are only permitted from June 29 to July 4, and only until 11:45 p.m. on each of those days. Garden City's ordinance further restricts the use of fireworks, prohibiting them within 200 feet of any residential structure and within 20 feet of open flames, burners, gasoline, ignited gas, or electric grills. Fireworks are also not allowed on public property, including parks. Additionally, please be mindful of neighbors with dogs, small children, or elderly individuals when using legal fireworks. Let's ensure a safe and enjoyable celebration for everyone in the community!
