Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on 07/03/2024 at approximately 7:39 P.m.  his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash near the intersection of Decatur Rd and Fosdick St, in Volinia Township, Cass County Michigan.
 
Investigation shows that 31-year-old Lawrence Michigan resident, Jenequa Parsons was traveling Westbound on Fosdick St. when she swerved to avoid a deer. Parsons lost control of the vehicle going up an embankment and overturning before coming to rest in a bean field on the North side of the roadway. Parsons was able to extract herself from the vehicle. Parsons was transported to Borgess Lee hospital for minor injuries sustained in the crash.

Seatbelts were worn and alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor. Assisting in this crash was Wayne Township Fire and SMCAS Ambulance service.
