Newark Department of Public Safety To Host National Night Out 
Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé and the entire Newark Department of Public Safety will celebrate the 41st Annual “National Night Out” from 2 p.m. to 8 p.m., Tuesday, August 6, 2024, at West Side Park, 17th Avenue, and South 17th Street, in Newark.
National Night Out is a festive crime and drug prevention awareness event endorsed by the National Association of Town Watch. It is designed to generate support for and participation in local anti-crime programs, strengthen neighborhood spirit, and foster police-community partnerships.
Attendees at National Night Out will enjoy free food, music, giveaways, and other fun and informative activities for both children and adults.
The Police Division will display its Emergency Services Unit and equipment, police horses, motorcycles, police boat, bomb trucks, Segway devices, and command post vehicles. The Fire Division will display its command vehicle, a HAZMAT vehicle, and more.
