Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé announces that the following streets will be closed during the below designated hours due to the City of Newark’s Drive Up and Go Food Distribution event:
 
Beginning from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Wednesday, July 10, 2024
 
Spruce Street between Irvine Turner Blvd. and Quitman Street
Prince Street between Muhammad Ali Ave. and W. Kinney Street
Broome Street between Muhammad Ali Ave. and Montgomery Street
Barclay Street between Montgomery Street and Muhammad Ali Ave.
Somerset Street between Muhammad Ali Ave. and Montgomery Street
Montgomery Street between Spruce Street and Prince Street
Clarion Lane between Irvine Turner Blvd. and Prince Street
 
The food drive begins at 10 a.m. and will be held at Prince Street and Spruce Street.
 
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and to plan alternate routes.
 
Director Fragé thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding any criminal activity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).  All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
