Flood Advisory until 10:30PM Friday

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...Portions of west central Virginia, including the following counties and independent city, Alleghany VA, Bath, Botetourt and City of Covington and southeast West Virginia, including the following county, Greenbrier.

* WHEN...Until 1030 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Ponding of water in urban or other areas is occurring or is imminent.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 632 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 0.5 and 1 inch of rain has fallen. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Claylick Run, Anthony Creek, Back Creek, Coles Run, Cove Run, Colliers Creek, Cabin Creek, Cowpasture River, Brushy Lick, Cedar Creek, Big Run and Blue Suck Branch. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 1.5 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Covington...
