Fire Weather Watch until 07:00PM Sunday
...FIRE WEATHER WATCH IN EFFECT FROM SUNDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH SUNDAY EVENING FOR THE NORTHWEST PLATEAU DUE TO VERY LOW HUMIDITY AND STRONG WINDS AND AN UNSTABLE ATMOSPHERE... .Several hours of single digit humidity values Thursday, Friday and likely today will allow fine fuels across the Northwest Plateau to dry out. Continued very dry conditions, breezy to windy northwest winds and high Haines are expected on Sunday which will result in critical fire weather conditions. Thus, despite rainfall last week, rapid fire spread will be possible in receptive fuels. Winds will diminish Sunday evening to alleviate the critical fire weather threat. The National Weather Service in Albuquerque has issued a Fire Weather Watch...which is in effect from Sunday afternoon through Sunday evening.
* AREA AND TIMING...Thus includes the Northwest Plateau (Zone 101) Sunday afternoon and early evening.
* 20 FOOT WINDS...Northwest at 15 to 25 mph with gusts to 35 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...Minimum values between 5 and 10 percent.
* IMPACTS...Any fires that develop will likely spread rapidly. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
* AFFECTED AREAS: NORTHWEST PLATEAU
