Single Vehicle Injury Crash
Cass County Sheriff Richard J. Behnke reports that on 07/06/2024 at approximately 8:47 P.m. his office was called to investigate a personal injury crash near the intersection of Hospital St and M 60, in Jefferson Township, Cass County Michigan.
Investigation shows that 20-year-old Edwardsburg Michigan resident; Breanna Kowalczyk was traveling Westbound on Hospital St when she disregarded the stop sign at Hospital St and M 60. Kowalczyk lost control of the vehicle going down an embankment before coming to rest in a wooded lot on west side of M 60. Kowalczyk was transported to South Bend Memorial hospital for minor injuries sustained in the crash.
Seatbelts were worn and alcohol and drugs do not appear to be a factor. Assisting in this crash was Cassopolis PD, Pokagon Tribal Police, Cassopolis Fire and SMCAS Ambulance service.
