1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety arrest 
On 07/06/2024, officers from the Janesville Police Department responded to a belated disturbance at 2505 Center Ave. During the investigation it was determined that the disturbance occurred on 07/05/2024 and was between two males. The disturbance ended when one of the subjects fired a round from a handgun. No injuries were reported from this incident.
A suspect was identified as Dennis C. Smith, who was taken into custody on 07/06/2024. The handgun that was used in this incident was also recovered. Dennis was arrested for 1st Degree Recklessly Endangering Safety and held at the Rock County Jail, pending his initial court appearance.
