VIDEO - Police Seek Help Identifying Theft Suspects

Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé seeks the public’s assistance in identifying the below-pictured individuals in connection with the theft of a cell phone that occurred on Monday, July 1, 2024.
 
At approximately 11:30 a.m., a man shopping in a store in the 300 block of South Orange Avenue felt someone bump into him in an aisle of the store. When the victim returned home, he noticed that his cell phone was missing from his backpack. The victim reported the phone stolen. It is a Samsung A12.
 
Detectives investigating this incident observed surveillance footage of the theft and request the public’s help in quickly identifying the suspects. Suspect 1 is a Hispanic female wearing a yellow shirt and shorts. Suspect 2 is a Hispanic female wearing a blue Aeropostale shirt with white lettering on the front and the number 87 underneath in gray lettering. She was also wearing black shorts. Suspect 3 is a Hispanic male, wearing a blue baseball cap and a yellow and blue striped shirt.
 
Director Fragé urges anyone with information about these individuals to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).
