Full Notification

The Visilibty sensor on Saint Paul Island's Automated Surface Observing Systems (ASOS) is not reporting. This may impact the arrival of aircraft. The National Weather Service as opened a repair ticket for the ASOS.  NWS was notified and their electronics technicians worked it for several hours with the onsite NWS personnel. It was determined that parts were needed, and an electronics technician from Anchorage would need to fly out to Dutch Harbor and then attempt to make it over to Saint Paul Island on Grant to make the repair. Parts were ordered, and an ETA for a technician out to Saint Paul Island has not been determined yet.
