REMINDER: Learn more about the city's initiative to create a parking and mobility action plan
Hoboken community members are invited to an open house to learn more about the City's Curb Reimagined project, which will plan for how Hoboken can adapt curbside space to meet our changing needs and improve safety, sustainability, and economic development. Join members of the project team in person on Thursday, July 11, from 6 p.m. to 7:30 p.m. at the Multi-Service Center, 124 Grand St., to discuss the project.
Community members can also learn more about the project online by CLICKING HERE and provide feedback via an online survey and interactive map. The survey and map are scheduled to close on July 15.
CAPS to be held July 16
The City of Hoboken and the Hoboken Public Safety Department will host the next CAPS meeting on Tuesday, July16, 2024 at Metropolis, 96 River St., from 5 p.m. to 6:30 p.m.
CAPS, or Community And Public Safety, is a way for members of the public to meet and engage with local public safety officials. Representatives of Hoboken Police, Hoboken Fire, Hoboken Office of Emergency Management, Hoboken EMS and Volunteer Ambulance Corps, and Hoboken Health Division will be on hand for presentations, conversations, and a question-and-answer session.
Light refreshments will be served.
Attend Extended Office Hours with Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla
Mayor Ravi S. Bhalla and the Office of Constituent Services will host extended office hours on Wednesday, July 17, from 4 p.m. to 6 p.m. in Hoboken City Hall's ground floor conference room.

The extended office hours, launched by the Office of Constituent Services in June 2022, provides residents and community stakeholders with additional opportunities to speak with Mayor Bhalla and various City directors outside of City Hall's open business hours.

Expansion of northern RBDH construction begins on July 15
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) will be extending the construction area for the northern Resist Structure to occupy the western portion of the alleyway between 14th Street and 15th Street and Garden Street and Bloomfield Street. Pedestrian access through the entirety of the alleyway will be restricted during construction and residents should follow all posted detour signage for alternate routes.
Construction activities in this area will consist of utility relocation, pile driving, rebar, concrete installation and form work among other construction related activates, and is anticipated to be complete by December 2024.
Construction on southern portion of RBDH to begin Monday, July 15
The New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) is scheduled to begin construction on the southern Resist structure of the Rebuild by Design Hudson River (RBDH) project on Monday, July 15. The comprehensive project, which also includes ongoing construction on the northern Resist structure, aims to protect Hoboken from storm surge flooding.
The initial phase of southern Resist structure construction activities will occur within the public right-of-way on Washington Street between Observer Highway and Newark Street between 8 a.m. and 6 p.m. on weekdays.
Temporary No Parking signs will be posted. No lane closures or NJ Transit bus detours are expected at this time, but Hoboken Police Officers will be on site to manage traffic flow.
To accommodate displaced users of the loading zone on Washington Street between Observer Highway and Newark Street, the Department of Transportation & Parking will temporarily extend the length and hours of the loading zone on the east side of Washington Street between Newark Street and First Street. The new loading zone hours will be Monday through Friday, 8 a.m. to 7 p.m.

Hudson County Park Avenue Paving Project to begin July 15
The Hudson County Department of Roads and Public Property will be re-paving Park Avenue from Observer Highway in Hoboken to 19th Street in Weehawken, beginning Monday, July 15. The road work will be conducted on weekdays between 8:30 a.m. and 5:30 p.m. for approximately four weeks.
The County project, which includes milling and paving by contractor Smith Sondy will require intermittent and roving road closures and parking restrictions. Temporary No Parking Signs will be posted. Hoboken Police officers will be positioned in the area to assist with detours, traffic control, and pedestrian safety. Driveway and garage access may be temporarily limited to certain residential properties while construction is occurring.
The schedule may change due to unforeseen weather or subsurface conditions.
