Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé announces that the following streets will be closed during the below designated hours due to the City of Newark’s Drive Up and Go Food Distribution event:
 
Beginning from 8 a.m. to 1 p.m. – Wednesday, July 17, 2024
 
Ivy Street between Tuxedo Parkway and Sanford Avenue
Eastern Parkway between Varsity Road and Ivy Street
Kerrigan Boulevard between Mt. Vernon Place and Ivy Street
Netherwood Place between Varsity Road and Ivy Street
Ellery Avenue between Varsity Road and Ivy Street
Richelieu Terrace between Ivy Street and Varsity Road
 
The food drive begins at 10 a.m. and will be held at Ivy Street and Easter Parkway.
 
Drivers are advised to anticipate delays and to plan alternate routes.
 
Director Fragé thanks you in advance for your patience and cooperation during this event. He also urges anyone with information regarding any criminal activity to call the Police Division’s 24-hour Crime Stopper tip line at 1-877-NWK-TIPS (1-877-695-8477).  All anonymous Crime Stopper tips are kept confidential and could result in a reward.
