Traffic Stop Leads to Driver's Arrest for Possession of a Stolen Motorcycle

INCIDENT: PC 496d(a) – Possession of Stolen Property
LOCATION: Kiowa Road and Rancherias Road, Apple Valley
VICTIM(S): 39-year-old male of Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): George Quintana, 33-year-old male of Apple Valley
SUMMARY: While on patrol in the town of Apple Valley, Deputy W. Ray saw a motorcycle being driven in the area of Kiowa Road and Rancherias Road. The motorcycle did not have license plates and the rider was not wearing a helmet, prompting Deputy Gregory to conduct a traffic stop. During the traffic stop, Deputy Ray discovered the driver was not the registered owner of the motorcycle. He contacted the registered owner and learned the motorcycle had been stolen.
Quintana was booked in at High Desert Detention Center for PC 496d(a), possession of stolen property. Quintana is currently being held in lieu of $30,000 bail.
