Crime Alert Bulletin Covering the Week of July 1-7, 2024
When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.
Robberies
There were eight robberies during the past week.
On Monday, 07-01-24, at approximately 11:40 a.m., an officer was dispatched to Manila Oriental Market on the 900 block of King Drive on a report of a window smash and theft of a purse. The victim stated that while she was parking in front of the Manila Oriental Market, a suspect smashed her front passenger window and grabbed her purse, which was on the front passenger seat. The purse contained a cell phone, $100, a CA driver’s license, an ATM card, credit cards, an EBT card, a Medicare card, and a medical card. The purse was later found and returned to the victim with the cell phone and $100 missing. The victim said she had not even placed her vehicle into park yet. After taking the purse, the suspect ran, entered a black SUV with dark window tint, and fled. The victim described the suspect as a male wearing a large black hoodie, black gloves, and black pants.
On Monday, 07-01-24, at approximately 10:45 p.m., on the 200 block of Irvington Street, two victims were robbed by two suspects. The victims noticed a silver vehicle following them and then saw two suspects run toward them from the vehicle. The first victim had his black Jordan shoes worth approximately $500-$600 and an Essentials hooded sweatshirt worth approximately $100 taken. The second victim had his North Face puffer jacket worth approximately $320 and an Essentials sweatshirt worth approximately $100 taken. The victims saw the suspects reaching for their waistbands but did not see any weapons; however, they felt fear. The victims described the first suspect as a Hispanic male juvenile, approximately 5’9”-5’10” tall, 140 pounds, wearing a black ski mask, red hooded sweatshirt, and black jeans. The second suspect was described as a Hispanic male juvenile, approximately 5’6” tall, 190 pounds, wearing a black ski mask, dark hooded sweatshirt, and ripped gray jeans. The suspects fled in a silver SUV or minivan. This investigation is continuing.
On Wednesday, 07-03-24, at approximately 3:28 p.m., officers were dispatched to Sprouts on the 300 block of Gellert Boulevard on a report of a robbery. An employee stated that she noticed two suspects who did not scan all of their groceries, about $60 worth, at the self-checkout line. Another employee asked to see the receipt but was refused. The second employee removed the bags of groceries from the shopping cart and placed them onto the self-checkout register. One of the suspects attempted to grab the bags of groceries back, but the first employee told her not to. This suspect then punched the first employee in the face and attempted to punch her two more times. The second employee intervened, and the suspects left in a gray Tesla. The first suspect was described as a Black female in her thirties, with black hair that was tied up, and wearing a green tank top and yellow printed pants. The second suspect was described as a thin Black female in her late twenties, with short black hair that was tied up, and wearing a black tank top and black tights.
On Wednesday, 07-03-24, at approximately 5:14 p.m., officers were dispatched to Macy’s at Serramonte Center on a report of a subject detained after committing a theft. A loss prevention agent stated that she approached a suspect outside of Macy’s after the suspect stole two leather totes and a leather bag worth approximately $1,135. In an attempt to flee, the suspect scratched the loss prevention agent. This case will be referred to the District Attorney’s Office.
On Thursday, 07-04-24, at approximately 6:53 p.m., officers were dispatched to the unit block of Cypress Court on a report of multiple subjects in the area. The victim stated that one of the subjects hit her in the face, ripped her $300 purse containing her CA driver’s license and miscellaneous cards from her possession, and fled. On 07-08-24, the suspect, a 17-year-old Daly City resident, was arrested and booked into the Youth Services Center for robbery.
On Friday, 07-05-24, at approximately 3:40 p.m., an officer was dispatched to a parking lot on the 300 block of Gellert Boulevard near Max’s Cuisine. The victim said that as she was parking her vehicle with the window lowered due to the heat, a suspect grabbed her $65 purse containing a $35 wallet, $700, and other miscellaneous property off the passenger seat and fled in a white sedan. The victim described the suspect as a thin-built male, 5’7” to 5’8” tall, wearing all dark clothing and a ski mask.
On Saturday, 07-06-24, at approximately 11:17 a.m., in the parking lot of Serramonte Center near Target, while a victim was parking, a suspect attempted to break the front passenger window of her vehicle. The victim heard a loud bang and then observed the suspect striking her window with an unknown object in his fist. The victim was able to drive away. The victim described the suspect as a slender male adult, 5’7” to 5’8” tall, with a medium complexion, and wearing a black ski mask. The suspect fled in a Lexus IS350.
On Saturday, 07-06-24, at approximately 11:40 a.m., an officer was dispatched to a parking lot on the 900 block of King Drive on a report of an auto burglary. The victim stated that as she was parking, a suspect smashed her front passenger window and stole her $100 purse containing car keys, house keys, other miscellaneous property, and her wallet with identification cards, $40, and bank cards. The suspect vehicle was a white Lexus IS350.

Commercial Burglaries
There were no commercial burglaries during the past week.
Vehicle Burglaries
There were five vehicle burglaries during the past week.
- 7-Eleven gas station on the 2700 block of Bayshore Boulevard—a wallet containing a CA driver’s license, three credit cards, and a debit card was taken from a 2019 Honda HRV. While pumping gas, the victim heard her passenger door open and close quickly and then observed a gray sedan fleeing towards San Francisco. Occurred on 07-01-24 at approximately 1:30 p.m.
- Unit block on Marbly Avenue—nothing was taken from a 2016 Honda Pilot. Unknown method of entry. Occurred between 6:00 p.m. on 07-01-24 and 8:00 a.m. on 07-02-24. **Online report.
- Shell gas station on the 300 block of Hickey Boulevard—a bag containing medical equipment and documents was taken from a 2020 Toyota Corolla. The front passenger window was smashed. Occurred on 07-05-24 at approximately 8:40 a.m. The suspects then drove to the Chevron gas station across the street in a white Lexus IS350 with a shattered moonroof and burglarized the Volkswagen GTI mentioned below.
- Chevron gas station on the 400 block of Hickey Boulevard—a tote bag containing a wallet, CA driver’s license, a debit card, a credit card, and various health cards was taken from a 2007 Volkswagen GTI. The driver’s side rear window was smashed. Occurred on 07-05-24 at approximately 8:42 a.m. The suspects then drove to the Shell gas station on the 300 block of Gellert Boulevard, pumped gas using the victim’s debit card, and fled.
- Parking lot on the 300 block of Gellert Boulevard near PetSmart—a Louis Vuitton purse containing a black Tahari bag, a driver’s license, and credit cards was taken from a 2021 Mercedes-Benz GLE 350. The purse and its contents were later found and returned to the victim. The passenger side window was smashed. Occurred on 07-06-24 at approximately 11:22 a.m. The suspect vehicle is a white Lexus with tinted windows.
Stolen Vehicles
There were five stolen vehicles and one attempted stolen vehicle during the past week. Two vehicles were recovered.
- Parking garage on the 200 block of Lake Merced Boulevard—a 2003 Toyota Tundra. Occurred on 07-02-24 at approximately 8:22 a.m. **Recovered by SFPD on 07-02-24.
- 600 block of Templeton Avenue—a 2015 Mazda 3. Occurred on 07-03-24 between 4:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m.
- Unit block of Eaton Avenue—a 2018 Dodge Durango. Occurred on 07-04-24 at approximately 4:26 a.m. **Recovered by DCPD on 07-04-24.
- 200 block of Wilshire Avenue—a 2021 Lexus ES350. Occurred between 11:30 p.m. on 07-05-24 and 7:00 a.m. on 07-06-24.
- 100 block of Longview Drive—a 2009 Infiniti G37. Occurred on 07-06-24 between 5:55 a.m. and 6:02 a.m.
- Unit block of Palisades Drive—an attempted theft of a 2015 Chevrolet Corvette. Occurred on 07-03-24 between 3:30 a.m. and 3:40 a.m.

- There were 152 cases taken.
- There were 15 domestic disturbance cases reported.
- There were 6 cases involving an involuntary psychiatric hold.
- There were 11 malicious mischief/vandalism cases reported.
- There were 0 cases for public intoxication.
- There were 2 hit-and-run collisions reported.
- There were 5 narcotics-related cases taken.
