Wilmington Police have arrested two men on gun and drug charges.
During the month of July, members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division have been conducting an investigation into illegal drug sales in the 1200 block of North Walnut Street. On July 10, at approximately 11:47 a.m., police executed a search warrant in that block and took 18-year-old Tahj Johnson, and 18-year-old Dakota Sanders into custody without incident. Police recovered a 9mm handgun, .021 grams of heroin, and drug paraphernalia.
Tahj Johnson has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $8,400 cash-only bail.
Dakota Sanders has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Conspiracy (Second Degree)
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $6,500 cash-only bail.
