DETAILS:  Ptl. Cassar was detailed to Target for a shoplifter who was being detained by store Loss Prevention. Investigation found that Ariana Alston had filled a shopping cart full of merchandise valued at $239.49. She then attempted to leave the store without paying when Loss Prevention stopped her. Alston was processed at WWPD and released pending a future court date.

Arrested: Christopher Jenkins, Jr.
 
DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to 7-Eleven for a theft of services and shoplifting. A taxi driver had transported Christopher Jenkins, Jr. from East Windsor to 7-Eleven, but he refused to pay the $15.00 fare. Jenkins, Jr. then proceeded into the 7-Eleven, helped himself to a cup of coffee and a pack of Black & Mild cigars, and left the store without paying. Jenkins, Jr. was observed walking away on Princeton-Hightstown Rd. Officers attempted to stop him using verbal commands, but he ignored them. A police car with emergency lights stopped in front of him, verbal commands were given but he just kept walking. When he walked out into the middle of the dark road, officers tried to physically guide him back to the side of the road, but he resisted and after a brief struggle he was placed under arrest. Jenkins, Jr. provided a false name to officers, but his fingerprints revealed his true identity. Jenkins, Jr. also had warrants for his arrest from Trenton and Camden. He was served with his complaint(s), given new court dates on the arrest warrants.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Pagano and Ptl. A. Pollini were detailed to Target for a shoplifter who was being detained by store Loss Prevention. Investigation determined that Star Lopez had selected items from the home décor and baby departments. She used the self-checkout, failed to scan some items, and used a price tag from a lower priced item to scan higher priced items resulting in a loss to Target of $349.11. Lopez was processed at WWPD and released pending a future court date.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to a crash involving a vehicle that had flipped over. Investigation found that Jose Lopez was driving his Toyota sedan on U.S. Route 1 going north when he swerved in the roadway, then crossed over several lanes of travel, hit the concrete median, went off road and hit a tree. Lopez was determined to be DWI and arrested.  Lopez was released from custody and has future court dates pending with West Windsor Municipal Court.

DETAILS: Patrol Units responded to the Le Parc development for an attempted burglary to a residence. Investigation found that while the residents were in their living room watching television, two individuals wearing facemasks and dark hooded sweatshirts, walked up their doorstep, and attempted to open the door. Thankfully, the door was locked so the suspects moved on to an easier target.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were investigating an attempted burglary at a residence in the Le Parc development when they were advised of a vehicle burglary nearby. Investigation found that while the residents were upstairs in their bedroom, they received a Ring camera alert. The victim checked and observed that someone dressed in all black was inside of his unlocked vehicle in the driveway. He ran downstairs, out his front door and then yelled at the suspect. The suspect immediately ran away and into an awaiting white sedan which sped away. Nothing was believed to have been taken from inside the victim’s vehicle.

DETAILS: Ptl. Connell was detailed to a report of a stolen vehicle. Investigation found that during the overnight hours, a red Honda that had been left unlocked with the key fob still inside it. The Honda was entered and stolen from the driveway of the residence.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Caulfield was detailed to the Windsor Ponds development on the report of a stolen vehicle. Investigation found that during the overnight hours, a white BMW had been stolen from the driveway of a residence. The key fob to the vehicle was likely inside of it, and also stolen were with the victim’s purse and wallet.

DETAILS:  Ptl. Mangone was detailed to Target for a shoplifter who was being detained by store Loss Prevention. Investigation found that Jahve Porter selected $120.94 worth of store merchandise which he concealed into his backpack. He was detained by Loss Prevention when he attempted to leave the store without paying. Porter gave officers a fake name claiming he was from South Carolina so he was also charged with hindering his own apprehension. Porter was processed at WWPD and released pending a future court date.

DETAILS:  Patrol Units were detailed to a shoplifting at Target. When officers arrived, Andre Edwards had already been detained by store Loss Prevention. Investigation found that Edwards, who was accompanied by two other individuals, selected $941.54 worth of merchandise which he put into shopping bags that he then placed into a shopping cart. Edwards was exiting the store without paying when he was stopped by store Loss Prevention. Edwards was processed at WWPD and released pending a future court date.

She then proceeded to the self-checkout where she paid for a bag of ice, but none of the other merchandise valued at $116.56. Fairey was processed at WWPD and released pending a future date with West Windsor Municipal Court.

Investigation found that a Mercedes being operated by Jose Rosario Rojas was traveling north on U.S. Route 1 when it side-swiped one car, kept going and then rear-ended another vehicle, both of which were stopped for a red traffic signal. Rosario Rojas was determined to be DWI, processed at WWPD, and released pending future dates with West Windsor Municipal Court.

                Resident of Brooklyn, NY 11220
 
DETAILS:  Patrol units were detailed to Best Buy for someone attempting to make a fraudulent return. Officers arrived to find that Hongxin Huang was using a receipt from another Best Buy to return three (3) Apple AirPod Pros (earbud headphones) valued at $620.56, that were fake. Although the AirPod Pros and the packaging they were in looked authentic, they were determined to be counterfeit. Further investigation found that Huang had successfully returned (2) counterfeit Apple AirPod Pros at the store on 6/15/24. Huang was processed at WWPD and released pending future court dates.

Investigation found that Ernesto Ramos selected $84.85 worth of merchandise which he concealed into a reusable shopping bag. He then attempted to leave the store without paying. Due to a high volume of calls for service, Ramos was released from the scene and later charged with shoplifting.

Arrested: Juan Luis Say Gutierrez

DETAILS:  While in the Nassau Park shopping center, Ptl. Chowanec observed a black Ford Explorer driving very slowly through the parking lot. When the Ford got to a red light, it stopped two car lengths behind the stop line and was observed to have two non-working brake lights. When the light turned green, the Ford slowly made a wide turn onto Nassau Park Blvd. Ptl. Chowanec initiated a motor vehicle stop and determined that the driver, Juan Luis Say Gutierrez, was DWI. He was processed at WWPD and released pending future dates with West Windsor Municipal Court.
