On July 12, 2024, at approximately 0638 hours, Ventura County Sheriff’s deputies from the Thousand Oaks Police Department responded to a call for service of two subjects with gunshot wounds at a residence in the 100 block of North Jerome Avenue. Upon arrival, deputies contacted a female witness and determined a homicide had occurred.
The Sheriff’s Major Crimes Unit and East County Major Crimes Unit immediately responded and assumed control of the investigation.
The preliminary investigation indicates the male suspect entered the residence and shot the male victim, resulting in his death. The male suspect then shot himself, resulting in his death. This is an isolated incident, as all parties were known to each other.
