On 07-13-2024 at 10:41pm, deputies were dispatched to the intersection of US Hwy 41 and Woodsmall in reference to a motor vehicle crash between an SUV and a motorcycle. Preliminary investigation revealed that the SUV was traveling southbound on 41 and was attempting to turn east onto Woodsmall. The motorcycle was northbound on 41 and struck the passenger side of the SUV as it was crossing the northbound lanes of 41. The driver of the motorcycle was pronounced deceased at the scene. The driver of the SUV was taken for a chemical test, no drugs or alcohol were detected. A passenger in the SUV was also taken to a local hospital for treatment. A reconstruction team was called to the scene and is further investigating the crash. Our thoughts and prayers are with all involved. Steve Meng Chief Deputy
