The male victim, 27, was working at an area business when he confronted the suspect, who fled with stolen merchandise. During a physical altercation with the suspect, the victim sustained a non-life-threatening injury and was treated at an area hospital. SUSPECT: White male, 30-40.
2. Pursuit Arrest (0012) 200 Block of Filbert Street, Park District
Officers attempted an enforcement stop in the listed area, and the driver failed to yield, leading officers on a brief pursuit. The driver lost control and collided with the median. He fled on foot but was caught and arrested. ARRESTED: Miguel Angel Valencia H/M/24 for evading, resisting arrest, and traffic charges.
3. Traffic Fatality (0048) Quail Lakes Drive and Pershing Avenue, Lakeview District
The female driver, 22, was driving in the listed area when she was broadsided by another vehicle. She was transported to an area hospital, where she succumbed to her injuries. The other driver was found to be under the influence. Traffic officers responded for the investigation. ARRESTED: Estrella Pantoja, H/F/24 for driving under the influence and vehicular manslaughter.

The male victim, 26, was sitting in his vehicle in the listed area when the suspect approached holding a weapon. He told him to get out of the vehicle, and the victim complied. The suspect fled in the victim’s vehicle. SUSPECT: Hispanic male, 18
