SVRBGM The National Weather Service in Binghamton has issued a

* Severe Thunderstorm Warning for... Southern Oneida County in central New York... Northwestern Otsego County in central New York... Madison County in central New York...

* Until 815 PM EDT.

* At 727 PM EDT, a severe thunderstorm was located over Morrisville, or 8 miles northwest of Hamilton, moving northeast at 45 mph. HAZARD...70 mph wind gusts and penny size hail. SOURCE...Radar indicated. IMPACT...Expect considerable tree damage. Damage is likely to mobile homes, roofs, and outbuildings.

* Locations impacted include... Utica, Rome, Sullivan, Oneida, Kirkland, Lenox, Verona, Westmoreland, Eaton, and Chittenango.

* AFFECTED AREAS: MADISON, NY ... ONEIDA, NY ... OTSEGO, NY

Instructions:

Remain alert for a possible tornado! Tornadoes can develop quickly from severe thunderstorms. If you spot a tornado go at once into the basement or small central room in a sturdy structure. This is a DANGEROUS SITUATION. This storm is producing widespread wind damage across the warned area. SEEK SHELTER NOW inside a sturdy structure and stay away from windows! Large hail, damaging wind, and continuous cloud to ground lightning are occurring with this storm. Move indoors immediately. Lightning is one of nature's leading killers. Remember, if you can hear thunder, you are close enough to be struck by lightning. Heavy rainfall is occurring with this storm, and may lead to flash flooding. Do not drive your vehicle through flooded roadways.
