July 13 at 4:38 p.m. Pocatello Police Officers responded to the Pacific Steel and Recycling Trailhead for a possible body in the Portneuf River. An individual had called dispatch a short time earlier to report he had located a decomposed body in the river. Bingham County Search and Rescue Dive and Water Rescue team responded and removed the body from the river. The body was taken to the coroner’s office and an autopsy will be conducted. As of this time, the body remains unidentified and this case is under investigation.
