Investigation Leads to Arrest in Domestic Violence Stalking Case 
After a one-month-long investigation, the Janesville Police Department has made an arrest in a domestic stalking case after being notified of safety concerns involving the victim. The investigation was a collaborative effort between the Janesville Police Department Patrol Division, the Street Crimes Unit, the Investigations Bureau, and the Rock County District Attorney’s Office.
The investigation stemmed from a previous domestic relationship with the suspect, Shawn Ross. Officers were able to obtain evidence the suspect was engaging in stalking behaviors in person and by electronic mechanisms. Electronic Detection K9 Maui was utilized during this investigation.
On 07-13-24, a search warrant was executed at the suspect’s residence. Detectives are still processing and examining the large number of evidentiary items collected from the residence. Shawn Ross was held at the Rock County jail pending his initial court appearance.
At this time, the investigation is currently ongoing. To ensure a successful prosecution and protect the integrity of the case, no further information will be released.
