Hydrant Flushing to Resume on 7/17/2024 9am
Hydrant Flushing from Mack Ave to Jefferson Ave and Cadieux Rd to Wayburn St will resume on 07/17/2024 at 9am.
Grosse Pointe Park Public Safety along with the Public Works Department will begin its routine fire hydrant maintenance and flushing. Crews will begin flushing the hydrants North of Jefferson at 9am.
The purpose of flushing is to remove sediment build up in the mains and to verify the safe operation of hydrants and valves.
Hydrant flushing may result in temporary discoloration of the water, caused by small particles that dislodge during the flushing, as well as a temporary reduction in water pressure.
In the event of discoloration, we advise running the cold tap water in the lowest point of your home for a few minutes until the water is clear. Please refrain from washing clothes until the water runs clear.
Please contact Water Department at 313-822-5100 with any issues.
