Road Closures Planned for Major Special Events in August 2024

The City of Fremont is excited to announce several upcoming community events in the Downtown Area and in the Niles District. Please note the following road closures for each event and plan accordingly.

1. Festival of the Arts: Saturday, August 3 and Sunday, August 4, 2024

The Fremont Festival of the Arts is scheduled for Saturday and Sunday, August 3-4 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. Several roads in the City's Downtown District will be closed and impacted by the event.

Road Closure: Please note the following road closures from Friday, August 2 from 2:00 p.m. to Sunday, August 4 at 11:59 p.m.
• Paseo Padre Pkwy – between Capitol Ave and Stevenson Blvd
• Liberty St – between Beacon Ave and Sundale Ave
• Walnut Ave – between Civic Center Dr & California St
• Hastings St – between Capitol Ave and Mowry Ave

Parking Lot Closure: The following parking lots will be closed from Friday, August 2 from 12:00 p.m. to Sunday, August 4 at 11:59 p.m.:
• City Hall Parking Lot
• City of Fremont Family Resources Center (FRC) Parking Lot

2. Hot August Niles Car Show: Sunday, August 11, 2024

The Annual Hot August Niles Car Show will take place on Sunday, August 11 from 9:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. in the Niles District.

Road Closure: The following roads will be closed on Sunday, August 11 from 5:00 a.m. and to reopen by 5:00 p.m.
• Niles Blvd - between "J Street and "G" Street
• "H" Street - between Second Street and Niles Blvd
• "I" Street - between Second Street and Niles Blvd
• Iron Horse Lane - between "H" and "I" Streets

Parking Lot Closure: The following parking lots will be closed from Saturday, August 10 from 7:00 p.m. to Sunday, August 11 at 5:00 p.m.
• City parking lots next to Niles Plaza

3. Festival of India Mela and Parade: Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18, 2024

The Festival of India will take place at the Fremont Hall of Justice parking lot and surrounding areas in Downtown Fremont on Saturday, August 17 and Sunday, August 18 from 10:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m. The parade will take on Sunday, August 18 from 11:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Road Closure:
Mela: The following road will be closed from Saturday, August 17 at 6:00 a.m. to Sunday, August 18 at 11:59 p.m.
• Walnut Ave – between Paseo Padre Pkwy and Liberty St

Parade: The following additional road closures will take place on Sunday, August 18 from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for the parade.
• Paseo Padre Pkwy – between Mowry Ave and Stevenson Blvd
• Liberty St – between Capitol Ave and Beacon Ave
• Capitol Ave – between State St and Paseo Padre Parkway
• Kearny St – between Stevenson Blvd and Liberty Ave
• Walnut Ave – between Paseo Padre Pkwy and Liberty St

Parking Lot Closure: The following parking lots will be closed on Sunday, August 18 from 6:00 a.m. to 3:00 p.m. for the parade.
• City Hall Parking Lot
• City of Fremont Family Resources Center (FRC) Parking Lot
• City of Fremont Development Services Center Parking Lot

4. Niles Antique Faire and Flea Market: Sunday, August 25, 2024

The Niles Antique Faire and Flea Market will take place on Sunday, August 25 in the Niles District from 6:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Road Closure: The following roads will be closed on Sunday, August 25 from 12:00 a.m. to 6:00 p.m.
• Niles Blvd., between “G” Street and “J” Street
• “G” “H” Street and “I” Street, between Second Street and Niles Blvd

Parking Lot Closure: The following parking lots will be closed on Saturday, August 24 from 7:00 p.m. to Sunday, August 25 at 6:00 p.m.
• City parking lots next to Niles Plaza

As with all special events, Fremont Police Department asks attendees to please refrain from bringing backpacks and large bags into the area. All bags are subject to search. In addition, UAVs (drones) will not be permitted to fly over the event.

During all events, always be aware of your surroundings and report suspicious activities. We ask: If You See Something, Say Something. If you see suspicious behavior or situations, do not confront the individuals involved.
