Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges.
On July 14, at approximately 8:47 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were in the 400 block of North Monroe Street, when they observed a male subject acting in a suspicious manner. Police made contact with 33-year-old Darnell Jervey, who was found to be wanted on an outstanding capias. Jervey was taken into custody without incident, and found to be in possession of a stolen .380 caliber handgun, and 1.764 ounces of PCP.
Jervey has been charged with the following offenses in addition to his outstanding capias:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Three Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Receiving a Stolen Firearm
- Possession of a Controlled Substance
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was released after posting $26,350 secured bail.
