Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges.
On July 15, at approximately 9:45 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division were in the unit block of Gordon Street, when they observed a male subject acting in a suspicious manner. Police attempted to make contact with the subject, who fled on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, 36-year-old Thomas Wisher was taken into custody without incident. Police recovered a loaded .45 caliber handgun, 1.4 grams of crack cocaine, .336 grams of heroin, and $977.
Wisher has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Three Counts
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver – Two Counts
- Tampering with Physical Evidence
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $71,000 cash-only bail.
