INCIDENT: PC 459 – Burglary
PC 182(a)(2) – Conspiracy to Commit Crime
LOCATION: Dollar General, 13540 Navajo Road, Apple Valley
SUSPECT(S): Jose Alberto Hernandez, 30-year-old male of Banning
Leah Danyel Moore, 26-year-old female of Beaumont
SUMMARY: Early Thursday, July 18, 2024, Apple Valley Police Department was dispatched to a burglary in progress at Dollar General on Navajo Road. The caller reported video at the business showed a subject putting merchandise into a bag and leaving through the rear door of the business.
Deputies were notified that a tracker had been placed on the stolen merchandise and the caller was able to follow the merchandise. The caller continued to give updates on the location of the merchandise and the information was relayed to local and surrounding law enforcement.
Deputy D. Padilla located a vehicle at a residence in the 31200 block of Rabbit Springs Road in Lucerne Valley, where the tracker showed the stolen merchandise to be. Two occupants of the vehicle, Jose Alberto Hernandez and Leah Danyel Moore, were in the vehicle and were detained without incident.
Jose Alberto Hernandez was arrested on charges of burglary and Leah Danyel Moore was arrested on charges of burglary and conspiracy to commit a crime. Both subjects were transported to High Desert Detention Center, and booked in, where they remain in custody in lieu of $30,000 bail.
