Crime Alert Bulletin Covering the Week of July 8-14, 2024
When I mention “the unit block” of a street, this means the incident occurred at an address anywhere between 1 and 99 of the street.
Robberies
There were two robberies during the past week.
On Friday, 07-12-24, at approximately 5:30 p.m., an officer was dispatched to the Loop gas station on the 300 block of Gellert Boulevard on a report of a robbery. The victim stated that as she was sitting in her vehicle, a suspect exited a gray Lexus GS350 with tinted windows, smashed her vehicle’s front passenger window with a hammer, took her purse containing a wallet, a CA driver’s license, bank cards, a medical card, a car key fob, house keys, and earbuds all worth approximately $4,000, reentered the Lexus, and fled westbound on Hickey Boulevard. The suspect was described as a dark-complexioned male, approximately 5’8” tall, wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and dark pants.
On Friday, 07-12-24, at approximately 5:36 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Manila Oriental Market on the 900 block of King Drive on a report of a robbery. The victim stated that as she was walking back to her vehicle in the parking lot, she had her wallet, which contained credit and debit cards, $100, a CA driver’s license, and other miscellaneous cards, in her hand. A vehicle approached from behind her, and a suspect exited from the rear of the vehicle, grabbed her wallet, reentered the vehicle, and then sped away. The victim described the suspect as possibly a Hispanic male wearing a dark hooded sweatshirt and sunglasses. The suspect vehicle was a dark gray Lexus GS350 (the same suspect vehicle as above) with a smashed sunroof.
Residential Burglaries
There was one residential burglary during the past week.
On Thursday, 07-11-24, at approximately 12:51 p.m., officers were dispatched to the 300 block of Bay Ridge Drive on a report of a residential burglary. The suspects made entry via an unlocked window, took $2,000 and approximately $400 worth of jewelry, and fled on foot southbound on Bay Ridge Drive. The first suspect was wearing a black balaclava, a gray hooded sweatshirt, black sweatpants with white stripes, blue gloves, and white shoes. The second suspect was wearing all-black clothing.
Commercial Burglaries
There were three commercial burglaries during the past week.
On Monday, 07-08-24, at approximately 5:00 p.m., Studio Luna Body Sculpting on the 6300 block of Mission Street had a facial rejuvenation pen valued at approximately $3,500 taken by a known suspect. Officers contacted the known suspect, and the known suspect returned the facial rejuvenation pen.
On Wednesday, 07-10-24, at approximately 1:10 p.m., officers were dispatched to Zales Jewelers at Serramonte Center on a report of a grand theft. A customer representative stated that the suspect entered the store and asked to see necklaces. The customer representative removed two necklaces from the glass display case. The suspect tried on a gold necklace worth approximately $9,500, took it off, cupped it in his hand, asked to try on the other necklace, and then ran out of the store. The victim described the suspect as a slender Hispanic male with a light complexion in his late teens or early twenties, approximately 6’1” tall, wearing a gray hooded sweatshirt, black jeans, and white Nike Air Force 1 shoes. The suspect fled in a white 2021 Audi Q5.
On Wednesday, 07-10-24, at approximately 7:31 p.m., an officer was dispatched to Dick’s Sporting Goods at Serramonte Center on a report of a shoplift. A loss prevention employee stated that a suspect entered the store, stole three golf clubs valued at approximately $2,000, left the store, and fled in a black Scion TC.
Vehicle Burglaries
There was one vehicle burglary during the past week.
- 200 block of Baltimore Way—a jacket and a pair of sunglasses were taken from a 2006 Lexus IS250. The front passenger window was smashed. Occurred on 07-11-24 between 8:00 a.m. and 8:00 p.m.
Stolen Vehicles
There were six stolen vehicles during the past week. Two vehicles were recovered.
- Unit block of Northgate Avenue—a 2020 Yamaha motorcycle. Occurred on 07-08-24 at approximately 3:25 a.m. **Recovered by DCPD on 07-09-24.
- Unit block of Bellevue Avenue—a 2017 Lexus IS200T. Occurred on 07-10-24 at approximately 12:45 p.m.
- 700 block of Southgate Avenue—a 2016 Toyota RAV4. Occurred on 07-11-24 at approximately 3:00 a.m.
- 400 block of A Street—a 2023 Honda Accord. Occurred between 8:00 p.m. on 07-11-24 and 7:00 p.m. on 07-12-24.
- 300 block of South Hill Boulevard—a 2022 Nissan Altima. Occurred on 07-13-24 at approximately midnight.
- Treeview Drive and Greenview Drive—a 2023 Lexus IS350 F-Sport. Occurred between 3:20 p.m. on 07-14-24 and 2:58 a.m. on 07-15-24. **Recovered by the victim in Oakland.
Miscellaneous
- There were 128 cases taken.
- There were 13 domestic disturbance cases reported.
- There were 8 cases involving an involuntary psychiatric hold.
- There were 3 malicious mischief/vandalism cases reported.
- There was 1 case for public intoxication.
- There were 0 hit-and-run collisions reported.
- There were 5 narcotics-related cases taken.
