Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges.
On July 16, at approximately 11:54 a.m., members of the Drug, Organized Crime, and Vice Division were in the 400 block of North Monroe Street, when they observed a male subject acting in a suspicious manner. Police made contact with 19-year-old Evan Burwell-Honie, who was taken into custody without incident. Following a brief investigation, police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun, 405 grams of marijuana, and drug paraphernalia.
Burwell-Honie has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Carrying a Concealed Deadly Weapon
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Possession of Drug Paraphernalia
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 11 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $11,000 cash-only bail.
