Wilmington Police arrest male juvenile in connection to March shooting incident:
Wilmington Police have arrested a male juvenile in connection to a March shooting incident following an investigation.
On March 15, at approximately 9:18 p.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 600 block of North Jefferson Street, in reference to a shooting incident. Upon arrival, police located a 17-year-old male gunshot victim, who was transported to the hospital in stable condition.
The case was assigned to Detective Brendan Shea of the Criminal Investigations Division. Through the course of his investigation, Detective Shea identified a 14-year-old male juvenile as a suspect, and obtained warrants for his arrest. The 14-year-old male juvenile is currently committed to the New Castle County Juvenile Detention Center on an unrelated matter.
The 14-year-old male juvenile has been charged with the following offenses:
- Assault (First Degree)
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony
- Possession of a Firearm by a Person Prohibited
- Discharging a Firearm on a City Street
