MERIDIAN – On July 20, 2024, around 11 a.m., Meridian Officers were dispatched near the intersection of Ten Mile and Franklin for a requested area check. Officers were able to see an individual in the driver seat parked, nodding off asleep, with illegal drugs visible in the vehicle. When officers attempted to wake the individual, 25-year-old Timothy KINCHEN, he quickly drove away heading eastbound on Franklin. Meridian Officers pursued the suspect heading northbound on Locust Grove. The suspect failed to yield and accelerated to speeds up to 90 miles per hour. KINCHEN attempted to turn eastbound on Pine and struck another vehicle. Officers quickly apprehended KINCHEN and no one was injured.
KINCHEN was quickly apprehended and taken to Ada County Jail. He was arrested for Driving Under the Influence, Possession of a Controlled Substance, Resisting and Obstruction, Felony Evading and Eluding, and Felony possession. KINCHEN also had a $50,000 felony warrant and a $300 misdemeanor warrant out for his arrest.
