Flood Advisory until 01:00AM Sunday

* WHAT...Flooding caused by excessive rainfall is expected.

* WHERE...A portion of the Piedmont in North Carolina, including the following counties, Cabarrus, Gaston, and Mecklenburg.

* WHEN...Until 100 AM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 1002 PM EDT, Doppler radar and automated rain gauges indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Minor flooding is ongoing or expected to begin shortly in the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have fallen. - Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding along or near the I-85 corridor in Gaston and Mecklenburg Counties. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Gastonia, Uptown Charlotte, Huntersville, Downtown Concord, Central Charlotte, Southwest Charlotte, Northeast Charlotte, East Charlotte, Northwest Charlotte, West Concord, Mint Hill, Mt Holly, Belmont, Harrisburg, Bessemer City, South Gastonia, Dallas, Stanley, Cramerton and Lowell. - http://www.weather.gov/safety/flood
