Wilmington Police have arrested a man on gun and drug charges.
On July 17, at approximately 3:07 a.m., members of the Uniformed Services Division responded to the 1400 block of West 3rd Street, in reference to a suspicious person. Upon arrival, police attempted to make contact with a male subject, who fled on foot. Following a brief foot pursuit, 48-year-old Kevin Harris was taken into custody without incident, and police recovered a loaded 9mm handgun, 24.8 grams of crack cocaine, and 0.51 grams of heroin.
Harris has been charged with the following offenses:
- Possession of a Firearm or Ammunition by a Person Prohibited – Four Counts
- Possession of a Firearm During the Commission of a Felony – Two Counts
- Possession of a Controlled Substance with the Intent to Deliver in Tier 2 Quantity
- Possession of a Controlled substance with the Intent to Deliver
- Possession of a Controlled Substance in Tier 2 Quantity
- Resisting Arrest
He was arraigned in Justice of the Peace Court 20 and was committed to the Howard R. Young Correctional Institution on $250,000 cash-only bail.
