Hydrant flushing to resume 7/22, from Mack Ave to Jefferson and Wayburn to Cadieux.  

Grosse Pointe Park PSD working with the DPW will resume its routine fire hydrant testing and flushing.  Crews will begin the process at 9am.  

The purpose of the flushing is to remove sediment and  to verify the safe operation of hydrants and their valves  Flushing may result in temporary discoloration of water, caused by small particles dislodged during the flushing.  Temporary reduced water pressure may occur, as well.  
In the event of discoloration, we advise running the cold tap water in the lowest point of your home for a few minutes until the water is clear.  Please refrain from washing clothes until the water runs clear.
