One Arrested for Possession of Burglary Tools, Stolen Bike, and a Weapon
On Friday (7/19), around 1:10PM, Novato Police Officers responded to a report of a suspicious man with two bikes, looking in vehicle windows, who was near Olive School. Officers located the man matching the description near the baseball field, who refused to identify himself to officers upon contact. School was not in session at the time, however there were multiple staff members present on campus.
Upon contact, the officers noticed that the man appeared agitated and seemed to be under the influence of drugs. He could not explain why he was in the area and was later identified as Rudy Ipina Guerra, a 25-year-old who resides in Novato. After further investigation, Ipina Guerra was found to be in possession of burglary tools and a knife, as well as checks that did not belong to him. Notably, he was in possession of a bike that the officers recognized as stolen earlier Friday morning. Thankfully, no was injured in this case and the recovered bike was later returned to its owner. Ipina Guerra was safely booked in the Marin County Jail for possession of burglary tools, a weapon, stolen property, among other charges. Multiple warrants for his arrest were also discovered.
