Flood Advisory until 08:00PM Monday

...Flood Advisory In Effect for Southeastern Greenbrier County and Northwestern Monroe County through 8 PM EDT...

* WHAT...Flooding resulting from showers and thunderstorms with very heavy rainfall.

* WHERE...The following counties in southeast West Virginia, Greenbrier and Monroe. The heaviest rain will impact areas from Alderson and Second Creek to Ronceverte and White Sulphur Springs.

* WHEN...Until 800 PM EDT.

* IMPACTS...Minor flooding in low-lying and poor drainage areas. Some low-water crossings may become impassable, including the WV Route 63 tunnel in Caldwell.

* ADDITIONAL DETAILS... - At 456 PM EDT, Doppler radar indicated heavy rain due to thunderstorms. Overflowing poor drainage areas will result in minor flooding to moderate flooding within the advisory area. Between 1 and 2 inches of rain have already fallen during the past 30 minutes or so with an additional 1 to 2 inches of rain likely during the next 30 minutes. - This includes the following streams and drainages... Dry Creek, Muddy Creek, Boulder Run, Kelly Creek, Hardy Run, Broad Run, Greenbrier River, Jericho Draft and Howard Creek. Additional rainfall amounts of 1 to 2 inches are expected over the area. This additional rain will result in minor flooding. - Some locations that will experience flooding include... Lewisburg... White Sulphur Springs... Ronceverte... Alderson... Organ Cave... Fairlea...
