Newark Public Safety Director Fritz G. Fragé requests the public’s help locating the suspect who carjacked the Moped pictured below from a delivery food worker on July 19, 2024.
The incident occurred at approximately 9:30 p.m. when the worker arrived with a food order at an apartment building in the 900 block of Broad Street. After parking his vehicle in the parking lot, the suspect struck the worker in the back of the head, causing him to fall to the ground unconscious. The suspect took the red 2023 Jiajue Moped and drove away westbound on West Kinney Street, then onto Vine Street.
