Needles Man Attempts to Take Deputy's Firearm During Arrest for Trespassing

INCIDENT: PC 148(d) - Resisting Arrest- Attempt Removal of Firearm
LOCATION: 1900 Block of Clary Drive
SUSPECT(S): Emiliano Castillo, 37 Years Old, Resident of Needles, CA
VICTIM(S): CONFIDENTIAL
SUMMARY: On July 22, 2024, at approximately 8:06 p.m., deputies were dispatched to the 1900 block of Clary Drive in reference to a report of a trespassing call.
Upon arrival, deputies contacted the victim and the suspect, Emiliano Castillo, at the residence. During the investigation, deputies established evidence of trespassing.
Emiliano Castillo was consequently arrested and transported to the Colorado River Station jail for booking. During the booking process, Castillo was transported to a local hospital to be medically cleared for booking. While being escorted out of the hospital, Castillo actively resisted deputies and attempted to remove the deputy's service weapon from its holster. Castillo remains in the custody of the San Bernardino County Sheriff's Department, with a bail amount of $30,000.00, and is awaiting a court hearing.
