El Cerrito Police Department crime blotter from July 7th – July 13th.

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito. It does not include all crimes. It also does not include non-criminal events such as missing persons, traffic collisions, non-criminal deaths, non-criminal disputes, nor many other police activities that do not result in arrest.

The following is a summary of criminal activity in El Cerrito from July 7th – July 13th.

July 7th
Possession of a Stolen Vehicle – Schmidt Ln. / Kearney St.
At 3:26 PM, officers located and recovered a stolen vehicle.  The driver of the stolen vehicle was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.

Vehicle Theft – 11780 San Pablo Ave.
A victim reports their vehicle was stolen from the parking lot sometime overnight.

Fraudulent Use of a Credit Card – 11565 San Pablo Ave. (Walgreens):
At 9:48 PM, an officer reports a suspect attempted to use a victim’s credit card to make a purchase, but the purchase was declined.

Possession of a Drug Paraphernalia - 11785 San Pablo Ave. (Launderland):
At 4:08 AM, an officer was patrolling in the area when the officer witnessed two suspects exit from the front door of a business. During the investigation, one of the suspects was found to be in possession of a glass pipe. The subject was arrested and released on a citation at the scene.

Commercial Burglary / Possession of Burglary Tools / Pepper Spray by a Convicted Felon - 9950 San Pablo Ave. (Chase Bank): 
At 4:51 AM, officers were dispatched to an alarm call. Upon arrival, officers located an unsecured door with forced entry. The suspect exited the building and was detained. During the investigation, officers found the suspect to be a convicted felon in possession of burglary tools and pepper spray. The suspect was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department, and transported to the Martinez Detention Facility.
 
July 8th
Stolen Vehicle Recovery - 11450 San Pablo Ave. (Safeway):
At 11:24 PM, an officer located an unoccupied stolen vehicle. The vehicle was released on scene.

July 9th
Vandalism – 10900 block of San Pablo Ave.
At 01:23 AM, an officer reports a window to the building was shattered.

July 10th
Petty Theft - 1500 Block of S.56th Ave.
At 11:58 AM, an officer reports the victim’s package was stolen soon after it was delivered.

Battery – 5040 El Cerrito Plaza (California Fish Grill):
At 6:48 PM, an officer reports a subject hit an employee and fled from the store.

Shoplifting – 11545 San Pablo Ave. (Ross):
At 8:49 PM, an officer reports the subject stole merchandise and fled prior to police arrival.

July 11th
Stolen Vehicle - 600 Block of Elm St.
At 10:32 AM, a victim’s reported their vehicle stolen sometime between the hours of 2:00 AM – 9:00 AM.

At 5:41 PM, a victim’s reported their vehicle stolen sometime on 07/10/2024 between the hours of 6:00 PM and 8:00 AM on 07/11/2024.

July 12th
Vandalism – 6021 Central Ave. (Burger King):
At 7:01 AM, a suspect was upset with an employee of the business and vandalized a soda fountain.  At 1:12 PM, the same suspect returned and damaged the soda fountain again. 

Theft by False Pretense - Fairmount Ave. / San Pablo Ave.
At 7:03 PM, a victim reported two suspects swindled the victim into giving them money.

Robbery - Ohlone Greenway / Ohio Ave.
At 9:39 PM, an officer reports the victim was approached by the suspects and one of them placed a cutting instrument on the victim’s abdomen and demanded property. 

Identity Theft - 8500 Block of Terrace Dr.
At 9:16 PM, an officer reports the victim’s credit card information was used to make a purchase in a different city.

July 13th
Driving Under the Influence - San Pablo Ave. / Bayview Ave.
At 1:59 AM, an officer conducted a traffic enforcement stop. During the investigation, officers found the subject to be under the influence of alcohol. The driver was arrested, booked at the El Cerrito Police Department and released with a citation to a sober friend.
