Narrative:

On 12/30/2023, at approximately 11:53 PM, Thousand Oaks Police Deputies responded to 2011 Los Feliz Drive regarding a female laying in the parking lot with severe injuries.  Multiple Deputies, the Ventura County Fire Department and Paramedics also responded.  (D) Sheila Pluntke (12/16/39) was located with severe injuries that were consistent with being struck by a motor vehicle.  Unfortunately, Pluntke succumbed to her injuries and was pronounced deceased at the scene by responding medical personnel.

Thousand Oaks Traffic Bureau investigators responded to the scene and initiated an investigation.  The TOPD Traffic Bureau located evidence that suggested the deceased was struck by a vehicle in the center of the small parking lot, just to the west of 2015 Los Feliz Drive.  The collision was investigated as a fatal hit and run.

Exhaustive investigative efforts led us to our suspect vehicle and our suspect, (S) Flavia Molina of Thousand Oaks.  On 07/18/2024, Molina was arrested for PC 191.5(A) Gross Vehicular Manslaughter While Intoxicated.  She was booked into the Main Jail in Ventura.  On 07/22/2024, Molina was released on her own recognizance to appear on a later court date.

At this time, the Thousand Oaks PD Traffic Bureau would like to remind the public of their obligation to remain at the scene of any collision that involves an injury or death: no matter how small or severe.

If anyone has any additional information relating to this investigation, please contact Senior Deputy Marcos Moreno at the Thousand Oaks Traffic Bureau.
