...FIRE WEATHER WATCH REMAINS IN EFFECT FROM THURSDAY AFTERNOON THROUGH THURSDAY EVENING FOR HOT TEMPERATURES, LOW RELATIVE HUMIDITY, AND SCATTERED DRY THUNDERSTORMS FOR FIRE WEATHER ZONES 116 AND 118... The National Weather Service in Great Falls has issued a Red Flag Warning for hot temperatures, low relative humidity, gusty winds, and scattered dry thunderstorms, which is in effect from noon to 9 PM MDT Wednesday. The Fire Weather Watch for Wednesday is no longer in effect, though a Fire Weather Watch remains in effect for Thursday.
* AFFECTED AREA...Lincoln Ranger District of the Helena National Forest and Helena and Townsend Ranger Districts of the Helena National Forest.
* TIMING...Wednesday afternoon through Wednesday evening, and Thursday afternoon through Thursday evening.
* WINDS...Southwest 10 to 20 mph with gusts up to 35 mph.
* RELATIVE HUMIDITY...As low as 14 percent.
* TEMPERATURES...Up to 96.
* LIGHTNING...
* THUNDERSTORMS...Scattered afternoon thunderstorms, some of which on Wednesday may produce little rainfall. Some storms will produce strong wind gusts.
* IMPACTS...Any existing or new fires that develop will likely spread rapidly and be difficult to contain. Outdoor burning is not recommended.
